Some more concert images this week – sorry I’ve been so busy lately with no chance to post. This is Ruut https://www.facebook.com/ruutmusic/?epa=SEARCH_BOX https://www.ruutdemeo.com/music?fbclid=IwAR2yU4FafS0rMc8yHcXcd1eCahQvfm9xvd99NHoHaB8cjGdKeoDnIcUCONQ a singer/songwriter whose work I have enjoyed for years. The performance was deep in the woods on a cool spring night at the fabulous Thorpwood http://thorpewood.org/
A wonderful magical small gathering for a solo performance.
Once again playing more with the amazing Nikon Z. I am totally in love with this camera’s ability to create images in low light. This was obviously not a time for any flash or external light source.
Got the chance to photography one of my favorite local bands The Dead Pens https://www.facebook.com/TheDeadPens/?epa=SEARCH_BOX
They almost always perform in low light conditions, so I brought along the Nikon Z6. I love the way this camera performs under these conditions. I am one of those photographers that uses a different camera for different situations. I started doing this in the film camera days. Different cameras would have different film for certain situations. It wasn’t easy to just change from daylight to tungsten and if you wanted black and white you had to shoot black and white.
Enjoy the pics – and the little jaunt down memory lane.
I was out on Friday night to photography a band, which I did (images were taken at Fish Head Cantina, Maryland. http://www.fishheadcantina.com/ In the process I discovered the opening act The Dead Pens https://thedeadpens.com/?fbclid=IwAR2CEVatmzWUHNlJtZB-O0vYGx1Wp-SmjntoJ7e8_MOUISXx9HDKYuJL9zE
This is an image from that show – lead singer/songwriter guitarist and keyboard player Danah Koch. I’ve added the band website – I hope you’ll check them out.
Shot with my Nikon D800, I had to deal with some low light issues. My main plan while shooting concerts like this is to use shutter priority to freeze action and then use the auto ISO function to help with the low light.
