LAKE STREET DIVE

I have had the pleasure of photographing Lake Street Dive,  https://www.lakestreetdive.com/ twice in 2018, both times in Baltimore, Maryland. The first time during the summer and the second just a few weeks ago. Enjoy the images, both sets were different photographically. One an outdoor venue the other indoor. The band has a wonderful light show that creates some challenges – a lot of very high and low light. As you might know I love a light challenge. The first two images are from the newest show and shot with my Fuji X-E1 and the second two were shot with my Nikon D-800.

MIKAELA DAVIS

Good Morning all.  Last week I went out to photograph Lake Street Dive (my second time, images coming soon) and has it’s been in the past I was thrilled to discover a musician I never heard of. This time it’s singer/songwriter Mikaela Davis. A total pleasure and surprise. These images were shot with my Fuji X-E1. I was shooting from the sound board, and used my 50-230mm lens. Using my usual technique of shooting with a shutter over 500 to help stop motion and auto iso to achieve maximum light. I also enjoy shooting in the 16×9 mode, giving a wonderful extra area to play with.

GOLDEN HOUR

It was election night, and I was on assignment at the Baltimore Museum of Industry     http://www.thebmi.org/   While waiting for politicians and there supporters to arrive, the storm clouds over Baltimore began to breakup – just in time for the golden hour evening light to shine in.  I left the main building and went to the edge of the Inner Harbor off of Key Highway and waited with my Fuji X-E1, in the 16×9 image mode and captured this beautiful image.WBDSCF4917.jpg

END OF SUMMER

It’s the end of summer in the northeast United States, so it’s the final chance to photograph sunflowers. I know this is the big thing for selfies, but – that’s not my thing. I also try not to get the image everyone else might try and get. This is one from a field near me in Baltimore County, MD. I waited till the last few seconds of light. Shot with my Fuji X-E1. wDSCF2733.jpg
