It’s been awhile since a post – but this one is a mega post. Fellow photographer Mark Wagner sent me a challenge on Facebook (5 Black And White Images In 5 Days). The easy part was having 5 images – the hard part was choosing just 5.

A while back I shot one of Lili Roquelin’s performances at “The Bitter End” in Manhatten. Friend – singer – songrwriter, chose this image for her new single release “Bliss Of My Soul”.
And to view images from the show go to her flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/liliroquelin/sets/72157644541684321/
I shot this image a few years back – it was on a blank background and my talented friend, model and illustrator Orla Rose added the new titles and background. We were all shooting some military pin up style images at the warehouse. Lots of talented people came together for this – war bond poster – still as meaningful today.
It is hard to believe 70 years have gone bye, my father and my uncle both served in WWII – both are long gone. I have had the opportunity to visit the Normandy section of France – the battlefields, the towns, the cemeteries – the constant reminders of the war.
As every other year – I was at Preakness – Pimlico Race Course, Baltimore MD – and every year I take my cameras – this year I had a few minutes to head over to the main stage – to catch a bit of Lorde in concert.
I had a photo credential but not enough time to get into the photo pit – so I found a spot where I could see crowd and stage.
