I recently picked up a Nikon Z6, and took it for it’s first concert shoot – Valeria June http://valeriejune.com/ a really fun show by the way, and a rare solo performance. Great way to shoot with the 24-70mm lens (not a crappy plastic lens either). Anyway – I had the opportunity to use the silent mode. Which comes in handy at an interment concert.
The images are the jpegs straight out of the camera – no filters, no photoshop – just resizing and a watermark.
I have had the pleasure of working with the people of this incredible company – Icosa Apparel. https://www.icosaapparel.com and all the photography on their website and look book are my images. Please check them out at the above link. The product of women’s leggings, tees and dresses are fabulous.
The image here is of model Destinee Merritt, wearing tee and leggings. shot in studio with natural light from the windows with a Fuji E-X1.
I have the privilege of having 2 images in a gallery show at the Seville Gallery – Allegany Arts Council, in Cumberland, Maryland. http://www.alleganyartscouncil.org/ The exhibit the works were chosen for is called “Make Me Blush”. The opening is Feb 4, 2019. If you find yourself in the area – stop in and take a look. I won’t be showing images here. “No Spoilers”
I have had the pleasure of photographing Lake Street Dive, https://www.lakestreetdive.com/ twice in 2018, both times in Baltimore, Maryland. The first time during the summer and the second just a few weeks ago. Enjoy the images, both sets were different photographically. One an outdoor venue the other indoor. The band has a wonderful light show that creates some challenges – a lot of very high and low light. As you might know I love a light challenge. The first two images are from the newest show and shot with my Fuji X-E1 and the second two were shot with my Nikon D-800.
Good Morning all. Last week I went out to photograph Lake Street Dive (my second time, images coming soon) and has it’s been in the past I was thrilled to discover a musician I never heard of. This time it’s singer/songwriter Mikaela Davis. A total pleasure and surprise. These images were shot with my Fuji X-E1. I was shooting from the sound board, and used my 50-230mm lens. Using my usual technique of shooting with a shutter over 500 to help stop motion and auto iso to achieve maximum light. I also enjoy shooting in the 16×9 mode, giving a wonderful extra area to play with.
Over the summer, model and fashion designer Stacy Stube and I did a series of images with vintage dresses. Shooting around Baltimore, Maryland. Part of the goal was to have the images be vintage in style. This is one of the black and whites – taken in the Mt. Washington section of town just feet away from the Washington Monument.
Heather aka Chikara Moth, https://modelsociety.com/Model/chikara-moth?fbclid=IwAR1y37CpUzjCqCw3q_TiuyfRxBI2uiseYqIH0SL5T4g4dr2PL2Xv4fYT8no dropped by the studio a month ago and we played with some fun studio lighting and saran wrap. Heather made a saran wrap dress – with a color collar. I played with 5 point lighting, 3 strobes one around the side and two in front one farther back than the other, daylight and some overhead fluorescent light.
